WINTER TREE REMOVAL TIMELINE:
September 1-October
City Crews assess and mark trees for removal in the upcoming winter season
This marking will be done with a pink paint dot signifying which tree(s) will be removed.
(green paint markings signify a contracted removal)
Resident's may receive a postcard from City personnel stating they identified a tree(s) within the City road right-of-way that needs to be removed.
December - May
(weather dependent)
Winter Tree Removals of road right-of-way tree(s) will occur and are no charge to the resident.
May-July
City crews will return to remove the stumps and complete restoration.

Fall Replacement Tree Planting Occurs
The City's urban forest is managed by City Forester, Mike Gies. Serving in a professional capacity, the City Forester selects and maintains trees for the City nursery, which will be planted on streets and in parks, provides advice to citizens and City departments regarding trees, and assists builders and homeowners in preserving or preventing damage to specimen trees. Tree work on City land is performed by the Department of Public Works and private contractors.
