This site was dedicated to the City in 1989 in lieu of paying park and open space fees for several lots that were split off around the site's perimeter.  At the time of dedication, though no legal restrictions were actually imposed, the landowner expressed the desire for this to be a neighborhood natural area for wildlife preservation and pedestrian enjoyment.
