Decks

A building permit is required for all decks including refacing or adding on to an existing deck.

To obtain a deck permit, please submit the following items to the Inspections Department:

1. Building Permit Application (see attachment)
2. Copy of your survey showing where the deck will be located with the distance from the deck to the lot lines marked.  If you do not have a copy of your survey, please contact the Assessor's Office at 262-236-2952 to obtain a copy.
3. Three sets of plans showing dimensions and layout.
4. If you are located in a Condominium Association, a letter of approval is needed along with a copy of the covenant/by-laws stating that a deck is allowed in a "common area".
5. Zoning Form (see attachment)
