Who Is MFC?
The Mequon Festivals Committee was created by Mequon’s Common Council to create, plan, and coordinate special events within the city, with an emphasis on utilizing the Mequon City Hall/Town Center Civic Plaza.  In May, 2013, Mayor Dan Abendroth appointed seven Mequon citizens to the Mequon Festivals Committee.  The Committee’s first meeting was convened on Monday, June 17, 2013 to generate event ideas.  At the committee’s second meeting, July 1, 2013, the decision was made to plan an inaugural event, Taste of Mequon.

TASTE OF MEQUON was created to spotlight community restaurants, artists and entertainers while bringing residents and business owners together to showcase all the elements that make Mequon a terrific place to call home. Taste of Mequon has grown every year and on average has 10,000-12,000 attendees. Event participants can enjoy the taste of scrumptious food prepared by local restaurants, sit back and listen to sounds of local entertainers, visit with family, friends and neighbors, stroll from booth to booth to appreciate the artwork crafted by local artists.  This year's bands will be The Vee Three, The Panoptics, and the headliner will be Failure To Launch. There are also activities geared just for children. There is no charge for admission or entertainment.

WINTER WONDERLAND was designed with children and families in mind.  While for waiting for Santa's arrival, event participants gather around the warmth of the fire pits and enjoy cookies, caroling and camaraderie with fellow friends and neighbors.  Hot food and beverages are available for purchase from local food trucks.  The highlight of the evening is the arrival of Santa Claus on a wagon pulled by horses.  This year, there will be a cookie decorating station, ornament making tent, and carriage rides.
