As the Police Department continues to work with Ozaukee County as they assume emergency dispatching responsibilities on behalf of the City, the Department would like to advise Mequon residents of an emergency notification alerting system that is available to all residents of Ozaukee County.  Residents have long known that they may call 911 for police, fire or medical assistance. Additionally, the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Public Health Department, and Emergency Management Division participate in a mass alert notification system called Alert Sense, which is similar to a reverse of the 911 system. The County Dispatch Center, either on its own or at the request of City Officials, can send voice and text messages that alert the community to a variety of emergency and non-emergency circumstances, such as a crime/imminent danger, evacuation alert, hazardous materials, local area emergency, or missing persons/Amber Alert.  For more information and to sign-up for the program, please visit this link
