Mequon Police Department (MPD) to Hold Swearing In Ceremony
The Mequon Police Department will be swearing in Captain Pat Pryor as the next Chief of Police, and Detective John Hoell as MPD’s newest Captain at 8:15 A.M. on May 3 in the Christine Nuernberg Hall at Mequon City Hall located at 11333 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon. Members of public, the Common Council, Police and Fire Commissioners, and staff are all invited to attend the ceremony.

Mequon Named 5th Safest Community in Wisconsin
Alarms.org has named the City of Mequon as the 5th safest community in all of Wisconsin. To identify the safest communities in Wisconsin, Alarms.org reviewed the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report to generate statistics that indicate types of crimes per 1,000 residents. City Staff Complete Customer Service and Financial Policy Training
Last week the Human Resources Division and the Finance Department held organizational-wide training sessions on April 15 and 16. All employees were required to attend an hour long fundamentals of customer service workshop that was facilitated by David Spiegelberg from the Department of Tourism. Following the customer service workshop, all employees responsible for managing City funds were required to stay for a 30 minute financial policy review led by Director Tom Watson. Employees who were unable to attend will be receiving customer service training and financial policy training in the coming month.

Police Department to Host Drug-Take-Back Day on April 27
As mentioned in last week's bulletin, residents can safely dispose of all unwanted, unneeded or expired medications from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27 at Concordia University located at 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mequon. Participants may dispose of solid, non-liquid medication(s) by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into a disposal box or into a clear sealable plastic bag. Blister packages are acceptable without the medications being removed. Liquids, creams, and sprays must be in their original packaging. Arbor Day Event Scheduled for Sunday, April 28
Arbor Day festivities will be held at River Barn Park Pavilion from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 28. There will be a tree planting demonstration at 2:00 P.M. and free trees and shrubs will be made available for pick up. Please click here for more information about this fun-filled family event.
